Westminster Baseball Picked Second in SLIAC West Division

ST. LOUIS – Westminster baseball was chosen to finish second in the SLIAC West Division, based on a poll from the league's head coaches.

The Blue Jays earned one first-place vote and received 29 total points. Webster was chosen to win the West Division, receiving nine first-place votes and 45 points. Following Westminster is Fontbonne (28 points), Iowa Wesleyan (20), and Eureka (13).

Greenville was picked to win the East Division with five first-place votes and 37 total points. Following the Panthers are MacMurray (two first-place votes, 36 points), Spalding (3, 31), Blackburn (18), and Principia (13).

Westminster is coming off of an historic 2016 season. The Blue Jays went 28-15 with a 16-6 SLIAC record and won the SLIAC Tournament to earn an automatic NCAA Tournament bid.

The Blue Jays open the 2017 season Saturday, Feb. 25 against Nebraska Wesleyan.
