Blue Jays Edge Gorlocks in Series Finale

SAUGET, Ill. - Westminster baseball took game three from Webster by scoring two runs in the ninth inning to take the game 8-6.

The Blue Jays improve to 17-10 overall and 12-7 in conference play with the win. 

Westminster got off to a strong start, scoring four runs in the first inning on RBI singles from Will Stonecipher and Ryan Klimkiewicz

After the Gorlocks put one run up on the board in the first, Tanner Branneky added to the lead with a double to score Blake Strebler

Webster came back in the sixth and seventh innings to tie the game at 6 runs, but Stonecipher and Nick Cessna secured two runs in the ninth with base hits to seal the victory for Westminster. 

Sam Huesgen started on the mound, pitching six innings. Justin Riggins took home the win in relief while Hayden Wallace earned a save. 

Westminster concludes the regular season with a three-game series against Eureka Saturday and Sunday at Saucier Field.
