GREENVILLE, Ill. - Westminster baseball won two games over No. 1 seeds Greenville and Webster to advance to the SLIAC championship game.

Sam Huesgen took the mound in game one, pitching the complete game shutout to take the win 5-0, improving to 7-3 this season. Huesgen had a one-hitter going through seven innings of the game. 

The Blue Jays opened the first inning with three runs to set the tone for the game. Ryan Gvillo earned two RBI on a double to score Tanner Branneky and Blake Strebler. 

Nick Cessna then singled to score Will Stonecipher, making the game 3-0 after one inning. 

Neither team would score again until the sixth, when Adam Mundle and Nick Bohlmann each added RBI singles. 

The Blue Jays played No. 1 seed Webster immediately after their win in game one. 

Alex Dickneite pitched 8.1 innings, giving up five runs on eight hits and earning the 8-5 Westminster win.

Branneky opened the first inning with a single to score a run and make the game 1-0, but the Gorlocks answered in the bottom of the first with a run to keep the game tied at one run apiece. 

Webster went up 2-1 in the fifth, but a four-run top of the sixth for Westminster put the Blue Jays back on top. Adam Mundle hit a double to start the scoring, earning two RBI. Blake Strebler hit a single to score Mundle, and a Branneky double then scored Strebler. 

An RBI single from A.C. Long in the seventh added on to the Westminster lead, and yet another RBI double from Strebler scored two more runs to give Westminster a total of eight. Justin Riggins came in to pitch the last two innings for the Westminster, and while the Gorlocks were able to add on two more runs, it wasn't enough to stop Westminster. 

The Blue Jays advance to the championship game Saturday at 6 p.m. If the Blue Jays lose, they play again Sunday.
