After playing a key role in the Blue Jays’ 2023 resurgence, Reece Tanguay returns for his second season as Associate Head Coach. The 2023 Blue Jays set several school hitting records on their way to a 25-win season and 3rd place finish in SLIAC tournament play. By winning percentage, the Jays were the 13th most improved program in Division 3. In 2024, Coach Tanguay will continue to assist Coach Jourdain in every aspect of the program, with a strong focus on recruiting, infield and outfield defense, baserunning and assisting the hitters. During games, he will resume his role as 3rd base coach.

Tanguay joined Westminster in the fall of 2022, after an impressive playing and coaching career at Northern Vermont University. As a player, Tanguay excelled both athletically and academically, earning All-Conference honors, graduating with a 4.0 GPA and receiving the North Atlantic Conference Senior Scholar Athlete Award. Following his playing career, Tanguay joined Northern Vermont coaching staff as an assistant in 2017. He took over Northern Vermont’s program as the Head Coach in 2019. During his tenure, Coach Tanguay made two playoff appearances, helped develop a North Atlantic Conference pitcher and player of the year and ultimately set the school’s single season win record in 2019. During the summer, Tanguay coaches Post 91 American Legion located in Essex Junction, VT. In his 6 years as Legion Head Coach, Tanguay’s teams have won four state championships (2018, 2021, 2022 and 2023).
