Eidson (’10) Earns Spot on UMAC All-Decade Team

ST. PAUL, Minn. - As part of its 2018-19 "10-Year Celebration," the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) named 25 individual players to the UMAC Football All-Decade Team, which included Westminster's Daniel Eidson ('10).

Eidson played three seasons for Westminster, including two seasons while the Blue Jays were members of the UMAC. Eidson was a dual threat at both quarterback and a punter, earning recognition throughout his career for offense and special teams. He is tied for first in two-point conversions records for Westminster with three.

In the 2008 and 2009 seasons, Eidson earned a spot on the UMAC First Team for both offense and special teams, the only player in Westminster history to find a spot on multiple First Teams in the same year. In 2009, Eidson was named the UMAC Special Teams Player of the Year, the only Blue Jay to have ever earned the award.

While an impact player at the conference level, Eidson also made his mark at the national level. As a junior, Eidsion was 32nd in NCAA Division III in both punting average (38.5 yards) and total offense (244.6 yards per game). His senior year, he ranked 17th in NCAA Division III for total offense (302.0 yards per game).

"Dan was a multi-talented player," said Westminster Head Coach John Welty. "He gave us the ability to be a threat on every down including 4th down. He was a triple threat in that he could punt, pass and run. He did all of them well. Teams had to prepare for Dan to be able to do all three on 4th down."
