GREENVILLE, Ill. - After holding a halftime lead, Westminster men's basketball fell 124-107 at Greenville.

The Blue Jays fall to 10-14 overall and 9-8 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. 

"Our guys played a super hard game tonight," said Westminster Head Coach Matt Mitchell. "We played really well in the first half and executed our game plan perfectly, but got out of sync early in the second half with missed rebound assignments and uncharacteristic turnovers."

After the Panthers scored the first bucket, the Blue Jays went on a 7-0 run over a minute to take the lead, holding a small lead until the 12:26 mark of the game when Greenville went up 26-25. The next three minutes featured five lead changes and one tie, until Greenville managed to secure a five-point lead with 7:32 to play. 

Four points from Makygh Galbreath put Westminster back on top with three minutes in the half, but the Panthers quickly took the lead back. Six made freeethrows from the Blue Jays again gave Westminster the lead, and layups from Carter Wands and Jak Kitchens to finish the half gave Westminster the 61-58 advantage after the first 20 minutes of play. 

Greenville scored the first five points of the half to regain the lead, but five points from Romo Tabb kept Westminster in the game. Despite Tabb's performance, Greenville got hot in the second half and continued to increase their lead. The Blue Jays managed to stay within single-digits until the 12:39 mark when the Panthers marked their first double-digit lead of the game, and Westminster was unable put together a strong run to regain the lead. At the 12:26 mark, Greenvlle took a 96-76 lead.

An 8-0 run gave Westminster hope with under eight minutes to play, pulling back within 12 points to make the score 104-92, but Greenville continued to hit shots to hold their double-digit lead. 

The Blue Jays broke the 100-point mark with four minutes to play on two freethrows from Kobe Wands, but the Blue Jays would only score seven points in the final four minutes, including five from Galbreath, to fall 124-107. 

Five Bue Jays scored in double figures, including 30 from Tabb to lead all scorers. Tabb added 16 rebounds for a double-double. Kobe Wands added 20 points while Stu Hollandsworth added 18. Both Carter Wands and Galbreath added 13 points apiece. 

Westminster completes the season Saturday at MacMurray and is currently fourth in the SLIAC. 

"It's been a tough stretch for us but I know we can rebound by Saturday," said Mitchell.
