Stonecipher Leads Blue Jays at SLIAC Men's Golf Championship

The Westminster men's golf team placed seventh out of eight at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Golf Championship on Monday, April 18 through Tuesday, April 19. The Blue Jays finished the three rounds at the Aberdeen Golf Club in Eureka, Ill. with a 1043 (+191). 

The Blue Jays scored a 343 in round one, followed by a 375 in round two. The team shot a 325 in round three on Tuesday, scoring their lowest round in the championship since 2011. 

Senior Blake Stonecipher placed first for the Blue Jays, finishing 28th with a final score of 251. He led the team in round one and two with a 78 and 89, followed by an 84 in round three. 

Sophomore Blake Harris placed 31st with scores of 88, 89, and 83. Sophomore Brendan Smith played just three over par in round three, landing him in 32nd place with a final score of 260. Freshman Dustin Seibolt cut his score each round he played, starting with a 99 before shooting a 97 in round two. He ended round three with an 84, scoring a 280 on the championship. 

Junior Connor Muenks rounded out the team in 39th place. He shot an 85 in the first round and a 92 in round three.
