Westminster Men's Soccer Falls Short at Wisconsin-Whitewater

WHITEWATER, Wis. - Westminster men's soccer dropped a 4-1 decision against Wisconsin-Whitewater.

The Blue Jays fall to 1-5-1 with the loss.

"This is another really tough side that will prepare us for conference play," said Westminster Head Coach Adam Galla. "We are starting to see some small improvements. Our build-up play in possession was solid in the first half."

Westminster allowed the first two goals to go down 2-0 in the first half.

Daniel Barone scored the lone goal for the Blue Jays just minutes before the first half ended to cut the Warhawk lead to 2-1.

Wisconsin-Whitewater came out hard in the second half, adding two more goals to extend their lead to 4-1.

"We struggled to defend against the counter and reverted back to some bad habits in the second half," said Galla.

Each team landed 16 shots apiece. Barone lead the squad with four. Raul Belman played all 90 minutes between the posts and made six saves.

The Blue Jays stay on the road and travel to Illinois College Wednesday for a 7 p.m. matchup.
