Westminster Men's Soccer Tops Eureka 6-0

FULTON, MO. – The Westminster men's soccer team defeated Eureka 6-0 on Saturday to pick up their first win of the year. The Blue Jays move to 1-9 on the season and 1-2 in SLIAC play.

The Blue Jays dominated the game, outshooting the Red Devils 44-5. Justin Gerdiman scored the first goal of the game on a penalty kick in the 11th minute to put the Blue Jays up 1-0. Matthew Schulte scored his first goal of the season three minutes later to give Westminster a 2-0 lead.

In the second half the Blue Jay offense erupted for 27 shots and four goals. Jordan Kahrhoff scored the first goal of his Westminster career and Schulte picked up the assist. Gerdiman added a second goal and assisted on goal scored by Andrew Sprengel. Samuel Brown added the sixth goal for the Blue Jays in the 76th minute.

Connor Bandre' played the first half for Westminster and picked up his first win of the season. Chase Vogt replaced him in the second half and recorded a pair of saves.

The Blue Jays will play again on Wednesday at Webster.
