Westminster Men's Soccer Shuts Out Fontbonne

FULTON, Mo. – The Westminster men's soccer team recorded their fifth win in a row on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Fontbonne. The Blue Jays improve to 5-2 in the SLIAC and 5-9 overall.

Justin Gerdiman scored both goal for the Blue Jays. His first goal came when he beat the Fontbonne goalie on a penalty kick to make the score 1-0.

Gerdiman scored his second goal in the 48th minute. With his pair of goals today Gerdiman now is tied for the team lead with five on the season. Gerdiman leads the Blue Jays with 13 points.

Senior Connor Bandre' saved the only shot on goal he faced to earn his first shutout of the season.

Westminster outshot Fontbonne 20-4. Gerdiman led the Blue Jays with five shots follow by Freddy Nene with four shots.

The Blue Jays will play their final home game of the season on Wednesday against Iowa Wesleyan.
