Teubner and Conway Break Records at Darrel Gourley Open

Westminster's junior Glenn Teubner and sophomore Addison Conway each broke a record at Saturday's Darrel Gourley Open hosted by William Jewell College. The Westminster Blue Jays placed 18th out of 23 with 14 points.

Teubner shaved almost 10 seconds off the 2013 3000-meter steeplechase record with his fourth place finish. His 10:23.29 performance earned the Blue Jays five points. He also competed in the 1500-meter run and placed 20th out of 41 with a 4:21.62 time.

Conway made a new mark on the 400-meter hurdles record with his 59.54 finish time. He took .51 off the 2013 record, placing 14th out of 24 runners. He also competed in the 400-meter dash and placed 38th (54.97). 

Junior Bret Robertson earned the team eight points with his second place, 53.32-meter javelin throw. He competed against 27 throwers.

Senior Jesse Edwards earned the final point for the team with his 15:59.08 finish in the 5000-meter run. He placed eighth out of 34.

Junior Ryan Dyer raced in the 800-meter run, placing 30th out of 63 with a 2:02.36 time. Sophomore Logan Shoemaker placed 12th out of 52 in the shot put with a 13.59-meter throw.
