Burney Named FPN Preseason All-American

CULVER CITY, Calif. - Erica Burney was named to the 2017 Fastpitch News NCAA Division III All-American Team. 

Burney is coming off of a 2016 season in which she was named to the NFCA All-American Third Team and was named the program's first ever SLIAC Player of the Year. She also was named to the NFCA All-Region Team. 

Burney recorded a .540 batting average during the 2016 season, her first as a Blue Jay after transferring from Jefferson Community College. She led the league in home runs with 11 and drove in 54 RBIs, while tying the program record for doubles with 15. 

Westmisnter softball begins its season Saturday, Feb. 4 with a double-header at Rhodes College against Maryville (TN) and Rhodes.
