FULTON, Mo. - Westminster softball announces the 2019 schedule, which includes a home tournament to start the year and hosting the SLIAC Tournament to end the year, looking to defend their regular season title from the last two seasons and take home the program's first St. Louis Intercollegiate Tournament Title since 1993.
The squad starts the season Feb. 23-24, traveling to Hendrix for the Hendrix College Spring Fling. Westminster will face Centenary in a double-header over the weekend.
March 9-10, Westminster hosts Grinnell and Wisconsin-Platteville in a round robin tournament over Saturday and Sunday. The Blue Jays will face both teams twice over the weekend to open the home schedule.
They will then continue the homestand with a double-header against Monmouth March 12 before heading out on their annual spring break trip to California where they will face Marymount, VanGuard, and San Diego Christian from March 16-19.
The Blue Jays open SLIAC play at home March 24 against Iowa Wesleyan. The rest of the home conference schedule is set for March 30 (Webster), April 3 (Greenville), April 10 (MacMurray), and April 20 (Eureka).
Westminster starts road conference play March 26 at Principia. The rest of the road conference schedule includes April 7 (Spalding), April 13 (Blackburn), and April 17 (Fontbonne). Westminster will travel to Central College April 14 for their final nonconference matchup of the season.
The SLIAC Tournament is set for May 2-4, hosted by Westminster College.
