BELLEVILLE, Ill. - Westminster softball traveled to Lindenwood-Belleville for a nonconference matchup, dropping both games in the doubleheader.

The Blue Jays fall to 10-14 overall with the losses.

In game one, the Lynx shutout Westminster 11-0 in five innings. Katie Price took the loss on the mound, giving up six runs in 1.1 innings. Hannah Hirschvogel and Emily Holloway provided the only offense in the game with a hit apiece.

In game two, the bats came alive for the Blue Jays as Susan Buchanan hit her first collegiate home run in the second inning. After Hirschvogel and Elizabeth Davis reached on singles, Buchanan came in to drive in both with a three-run shot to center.

Westminster added two more runs, one in the third and fourth innings, on runs batted in by Abbey Jaspering and Lauren Huskey. Despite the offense for Westminster, the Lynx were too much to handle at the plate, and the Blue Jays fell 14-5.

The Blue Jays stay on the road and continue St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play at Fontbonne Wednesday.
