OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Just three days after their 108-point game, Westminster women's basketball follows it up with a 113-point effort for their third straight win. Six players scored in double figures for the win against Kansas Christian.
The Blue Jays improve to 9-7 overall with the nonconference win.
"It was a complete team effort tonight, and iu" said Westminster Head Coach James Arnold. "Everyone saw significant action and everyone contributed. That's always a plus, especially this time of year."
The 113 points in a game are the most for Westminster women's basketball in program history, marking the second time in just three days that the team has exceeded 100 points in a game.
The Blue Jays exploded in the first quarter for 34 points, holding Kansas Christian to just six points. Kendahl Adams scored half of her 28 points in the first 10 minutes of play.
The offense slowed for Westminster in the second quarter, scoring just 21 points, but still going into the halftime break ahead 55-23.
The Blue Jays continued to put up points in the third and fourth quarter, finishing the game on top 113-41.
Kendahl Adams, the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week for last week, continued her dominance with 28 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and five steals.
Makayla Jackson recorded a double-double for Westminster with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Kendal Miller added a career-high 17 points, including going 5-11 from the three-point line.
"With our nonconference schedule over, now we turn our focus to a month and a half of SLIAC games," said Arnold. "Our goal is to return to the postseason tournament and we need to continue to grow and improve to get there."
Jahne Williams scored 12 points, adding eight rebounds. Kelsey Ray also scored 12 points, adding five assists and four steals. Mikalyn Callahan rounded out the Blue Jays in double figures with 10.
