Westminster Women's Soccer Blanks Simpson 4-0

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Westminster women's soccer blanked Simpson with a 4-0 win.

Westminster improves to 2-4 while Simpson falls to 1-4-2.

"I'm very proud of the team and how they put yesterday's loss behind them and focused on our goals for today," said Westminster Head Coach Jen Dyson. "Their work ethic and focus gave us the ability to shut out some dangerous attackers and give ourselves the scoring opportunities we have been looking for."

The Blue Jays struck early with a goal in the eighth minute from Adrienne Ebersole from 20 yards out on a pass from Gracie Koonce.

Koone added a goal of her own in the 16th minute on a breakaway, taking the goalie one-on-one and netting the ball to go up 2-0.

Ebersole added her second goal of the game in the 38th minute to give the Blue Jays a solid lead going into the half. She was fed off the left wing from Kaely Fitterling and scored from close range.

Paige Townsend added the lone goal from either team in the second half to finish the game 4-0. She received the ball on a breakaway and got past the goalie to find the back of the net.

Ellen Woolsey made four saves in goal while Sarah Cradick made two. The shots for both teams were tied at 12.
