Westminster Women's Soccer Breaks Win Streak With Loss to Central

FULTON, Mo. - Westminster women's soccer broke a three-game win streak with a 4-2 loss to Central.

The Blue Jays fall to 3-2 with the loss.

"The girls battled hard tonight battling every 50/50 ball and improving on a lot of little thing that we've been working on," said Westminster Head Coach Jen Dyson. "Central is a quality team and the disciplined organization with which they play helped us see areas we need to refine."

Westminster started the first half strong, despite allowing the Dutch to start the scoring in the 12th minute.

Paige Townsend notched her seventh goal of the year with the equalizer in the the 20th minute on a ball from outside the box, sailing it in past the Central keeper.

The teams finished out the first half with one goal apiece, but Central scored a second goal just three minutes into the second half.

The Dutched added their third goal just ten minutes later. Just when the game appeared to be over, Kaely Fitterling scored in the 82nd minute to put new life back into the Westminster side.

Despite the goal, Central answered just 24 second later with a goal of their own to seal their win 4-2.

Sarah Cradick played all 90 minutes in goal, making 12 saves.

The Blue Jays finish September on the road, with their next match against Franklin Sept. 22.
