Westminster Women's Soccer Overcomes Principia on Four Townsend Goals

ELSAH, Ill. - Westminster women's soccer added a dominate victory over Principia, 6-0, including four goals from Paige Townsend.

The Blue Jays improve to 9-6 overall and 6-2 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, in third place. 

Westminster scored five of its six goals in the first half, continuing the team's decisive performances in first half scoring. 

The first three scores from the Blue Jays came from Townsend, who increased her season total to 18 after today's match. 

Townsend's hat trick came in under 12 minutes. She scored her fourth goal of the match in the opening minute of the second half. Her four-goal performance is tied for first with four other Westminster players in game day goals scored. 

Gracie Koonce scored the remaining two goals for Westminster, increasing her season total to 12. 

Sarah Craddick and Emma Bergman split time in goal to earn the shutout. 

Westminster travels to Eureka Saturday to close out the regular season.
