Women's Tennis Remains Undefeated in Conference with 8-1 Win

The Westminster women's tennis team remains undefeated in conference play after Thursday's 8-1 win over Fontbonne University. The conference win puts the Westminster Blue Jays at 3-0 in conference with a 4-4 overall record.

The Blue Jays held a 2-1 lead after doubles play. Their two wins were two 8-0 shutouts from the no. two, freshman Laural Royer and junior Ellen Woolsey, duo and no. three doubles team, senior Laura Wiltshire and junior Laura Kelly.  

Freshman Meaghan McGuire (no. four singles) and freshman Kelsey Gerlach (no. five singles) defeated their opponents 6-0, 6-0. Wiltshire in the no. six singles defeated Fontbonne 6-0, 6-1, and Royer won 6-1, 6-1 in the no. three spot. Freshman Sydney Attebery (no. one) and senior Jessica Klutts (no. two) won with scores of 8-1 and 8-2, respectively. 

The Blue Jays next host Principia College on Saturday, April 16, at 11:00 am.
