Westminster Women's Tennis Falls to Webster in SLIAC Championship

ST. LOUIS - After advancing to the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship Friday, Westminster women's tennis fell to No. 1 seed Webster 5-3.

The Blue Jays took an early lead over the Gorloks in doubles play, taking wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Payton Beeler and Sydney Attebery played at No. 2 and Laural Royer and Meaghan McGuire played at No. 3.

The Gorloks proved to be too much for the Blue Jays in singles play, taking four wins to claim the title. Beeler was the lone Blue Jay to earn a singles win at No. 6.

The squad ends the season 8-3 overall, including a six-match winning streak prior to the championship loss.
