Shannon McCaul has continued her success on the track from last year, earning her first SLIAC Track Athlete of the Week award.
McCaul earned her second straight first-place finish in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Central Methodist University Invite last weekend, earning 10 team points and helping Westminster women's track and field to an eighth-place finish. She finished the race in 11 minutes. 34.15 seconds to earn the win.
Jessie Kuykendall again helped her team, this time with a second-place finish in the 5,000 meters.
Taylor Howard earned nine total points for the squad over three events, placing fifth in both the 400-meter hurdles and the 400 meters.
On the men's side, the team's lone points came from a sixth-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay, earning four points. The team featured Andrew Buckner, Joseph Labitska, John Martin, and Akeen Modica-Robinson.
Westminster track continues the season April 14 at William Jewell.
