Reeg Joins 2,500 Assist Club As Blue Jays Sweep Eureka and MacMurray

Junior setter Kayla Reeg joined the Westminster 2,500 Assist Club during Saturday's two sweeps over Eureka College and MacMurray College. The Westminster Blue Jays have won three straight conference matches to bring them to 4-2 in conference play and 8-5 on the season.

The Blue Jays defeated Eureka in three short sets with scores of 25-15, 25-19 and 25-11. Sophomore Hannah Marshall led in kills with 12 while junior Amanda Kiso had eight. Reeg recorded 37 assists, leaving just four more needed to join the 2,500 Assist Club. Freshman Bridget Ringwald led in the digs category with 18.

The Blue Jays then swept MacMurray in three sets (25-23, 25-22, 25-13). Freshman Micha Frasher finished with 12 kills, and Marshall added 11 kills at the net. Reeg recorded 37 assists, joining the 2,500 Assist Club. Reeg also led with 14 digs. alongside Ringwald.

The volleyball team is back in action on Tuesday, September 22, as they travel to Eureka, Illinois for their seventh conference game versus Eureka College. The game is at 7:00 p.m. at the Eureka High School.
