Westminster Overcomes Harris-Stowe at Home

FULTON, Mo. - Westminster women's volleyball picked up a win against Harris Stowe in the home opener at Historic Gymnasium.

The Blue Jays improve to 2-3 on the year while Harris Stowe falls to 0-6.

The win was the first three-game sweep the squad has picked up this season.

"Tonight was a complete team effort," said Westminster Head Coach Curtis Madson. "We got a lot of players some experience and the level of play never dropped. This is what we need going forward."

Despite trailing briefly in the second game, Westminster never let Harris-Stowe go up enough to secure a safe lead. A total of 14 Blue Jays saw time on the court.

Hannah Marshall led the team in kills with nine. Bridget Ringwald and Kayla Reeg recorded nine digs apiece while Reeg led the team in assists.

Westminster returns to the floor at home Saturday with matches against Fontbonne at 10 a.m. and Iowa Wesleyan at 2 p.m. to open up the conference season.

"We are excited to get SLIAC play opened and start our push to November," added Madson.
