GREENVILLE, Ill. - After defeating Spalding in the semifinal, Westminster volleyball fell to Greenville in the SLIAC championship.

Westminster finishes the season 19-12.

"I'm proud of all the work the ladies put in this season," said Westminser Head Coach Curtis Madson. "Though the final outcome wasn't what we had hoped, the season as a whole was a great success." 

In the first match against Spalding, Westminster won in a five sets. After Spalding took the first set, the Blue Jays came back to win the next two and take the lead 2-1. After the Golden Eagles evened the score 2-2 in the fourth set, Westminster won the fifth set to advance to the SLIAC Championship match against Greenville. 

In the semifinal match, Hannah Marshall led either team with 20 kills. Kayla Reeg had 48 assists and Bridget Ringwald recorded 16 digs. 

Greenville defeated Westminster 3-0 in the championship match, a repeat of last season's match. Westminster came with six points in the second set, but couldn't complete the win. 

Elizabeth Kelley recorded seven kills in the match. Reeg added 24 assists and Ringwald recorded 24 more digs. 

Reeg and Kelley were name to the All-Tournament team for their exceptional performances in the tournament.

"I'm proud of the legacy these seniors have left," said Madson of his four seniors. "They are the reason the program is headed in the direction. I want to thank them for everything over the past four years."
