Westminster Volleyball Triumphs Over Blackburn

FULTON, Mo. - Westminster volleyball secures a dominating 3-0 victory over Blackburn to get back to their winning ways in conference play.

The Blue Jays improve to 5-1 in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic play and 6-8 overall.

"Our goal was to play consistently through the whole game and eliminate unforced errors," said Westminster Head Coach Natalia Koryzna. "We wanted to focus on what we can control and I think we did a good job of that tonight."

Hannah Marshall led the team offensively with 10 service aces, tying the three set record that was set in 2001.

Westminster never let the Beavers score more than 12 points, holding the Beavers to single digits in their final set.

Ashley Kistaitis led the team with six kills. Teresa Becker tallied 22 assists while Bridget Ringwald added 13 digs.

Westminster continues conference play Saturday at Eureka. Along with the Red Devils, the Blue Jays will also face Iowa Wesleyan.
