Westminster Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight in Blackburn Sweep

CARLINVILLE, Ill. - Westminster volleyball continues its win-streak with its fourth consecutive victory in a 3-0 win over Blackburn.

"We play a good, consistent game tonight," said Westminster Head Coach Natalia Koryzna. "I'm proud of our effort."

The Blue Jays improve to 9-8 overall and 8-1 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. 

The first set ended up being the closest the Beavers came to overcoming Westminster, with the Blue Jays taking a 1-0 lead in the match with a 25-19 set win. 

Westminster kept improving defensively, holding Blackburn to fewer points as the sets progressed. They took the second two sets 25-15, and 25-13. 

Hannah Marshall led the team offiensively with 11 kills, while Bridget Ringwald led the team on defense with 14 digs. 

The Blue Jays host Spalding on Friday night before a hosting a tri-tournament Saturday against MacMurray and Principia. Westminster faces MacMurray at 10 a.m. and Principia at 2 p.m. while the Highlanders and Panthers face off at noon.
