ST. LOUIS - Westminster volleyball was chosen to repeat as St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champions, based on a poll from the league's head coaches.

After earning the team's first regular season title since 1999 last season, Westminster earned six first place votes for 78 total points in the poll. Second-place Greenville picked up 69 points.

Last year's team that went 16-2 in the conference lost just one starter in Hannah Marshall, but will look to upperclassmen Ashley Kistaitis and Teresa Becker for leadership on the floor this season. Natalie Needy, a returning All-Conference selection, will also play a bigger role this season offensively for the Blue Jays. Bridget Ringwald will command the defense once again as libero.

Westminster opens up the season August 28 at Columbia College.
