Webster Hands Westminster Volleyball First SLIAC Loss

FULTON, Mo. - Westminster volleyball suffered its first St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference loss Wednesday, 3-0 to Webster.

The Blue Jays fall to 9-4 with the loss and 7-1 in the SLIAC. 

Despite the 3-0 loss, Westminster found a way to make each set a close one, starting with the 25-23 loss and forcing the Gorloks into extra points in the third set, falling 26-24. 

Teresa Becker led the offense, adding in one of her best attacking performances of the year with 15 kills, the lone Blue Jay to record double-digit kills. 

Jill Reando added a double-double on assists and digs, adding 21 assists and 16 digs to lead the team in both categories. Bridget Ringwald helped the defense with 14 digs. 

The Blue Jays travel to Louisville, Kentucky, to face conference opponent Spalding and non-conference opponent Indiana-Southeast Saturday.
