Westminster Volleyball Closes Out Regular Season at Principia

ELSAH, Ill. - Westminster volleyball fell 3-1 to finish the regular season at Principia. The team enters the SLIAC Tournament next weekend.

Westminster falls to 13-13 on the year and 11-7 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. 

The Blue Jays got a slow start to the match, falling 25-10 in the opening set. They recovered in set two, but the Panthers ending up besting the Blue Jays 25-23. 

The set three, Westminster came out strong and held a lead throughout the set, winning 25-19, but it wasn't enough to make a full comeback in the match, falling 25-19 in the final set. 

Allie Kennebeck and Natalie Needy led the way offensively, with 14 and 11 kills, respectively. Teresa Becker assisted on 29 of the team's 42 kills, while also leading the way in digs with 32. 

The Blue Jays turn their sights to the SLIAC Tournament, held Nov. 3 in St. Louis. Webster is the host for the Tournament and the No. 1 seed. The Blue Jays enter as the No. 4 seed and will facce Webster at 1 p.m. The winner will face the winner of No. 2 Greenville vs. No. 3 Principia at 7 p.m.
