Westminster Westminster Volleyball Ends Season in Five-Set Thriller with No. 1 Webster

ST. LOUIS - Westminster women's volleyball fell in a five-set thriller to No. 1 seed Webster to end their season in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Blue Jays end their season 13-14 with the loss. 

Westminster took the first set in extra points, 27-25, to take the early lead, but the Gorloks stormed back for the win in the second set to tie the score at one apiece. 

The blue Jays faltered in the third set, falling 25-18, but recovered in the fourth set, winning 28-26 in extra points to force a fifth set. 

Westminster finally fell in the fifth set, 15-10, to end the season in the SLIAC Tournament. 

Allie Kennebeck and Natalie Needy led the team in kills with 14 apiece, followed by 13 kills from Sarah Rivers. Teresa Becker was also in double-digit kills with 11 kills. Jill Reando assisted on 49 of the 56 kills. 

Six players were in double-digit digs led by Bridget Ringwald with 33, including Reando with 29 and Kennebeck with 23. Micha Frasher, Erica Schrader, and Becker also added double-digit digs.
