Kuykendall Finishes Third in Strong H.W. Wright Classic Field

DECATUR, Ill. – Two-time St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference champion Jessie Kuykendall finished third Friday at the Millikin University's H.W. Wright Classic. Kukendall covered the 6K course at the former Scovill Golf Course in Decatur, Ill., in a time of 23:07.1.

Blue Jays' junior Charley Blair finished 55th with a time of 28:10.0.

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology captured the women's side of the meet with a score of 37 points, led by Mary Petersen's winning time of 22:37.5.

Freshman Sam Moore led the way for the Blue Jays on the men's side, finishing 68th with a time of 31:17.3 in the 8K race, followed by sophomores Joseph Labitska (76th, 31:54.3), and Brian Sellenriek (106th, 39:33.6). Freshman Bill Murphy finished behind Sellenriek (107th) with a time of 40:11.2.

The Fightin' Engineers also netted the men's meet crown with 37points, claiming four of the top-ten spots in the race.

The Blue Jays return to action on October 13 for the Principia Cowbell Classic in Elsah, Ill.
