Wendy Sanchez begins her third year at the helm of the women's soccer program.

Sanchez has helped guide the Blue Jays women's soccer team to a 17-14-6 record in her first  two seasons as head coach.  She also sports an impressive 12-3-3 record in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games and has guided her team to two SLIAC Tournament berths and one NCAA Tournament berth.

In her first season with the Blue Jays, the team recorded their best record since 1999 at 11-5-3.  Their 6-2-1 Record in the SLIAC earned them third place and a berth into the conference tournament.  In the tournament semi-finals Westminster College prevailed against second seeded Fontbonne University in a dramatic win that was settled by a penalty kick shootout.  The win advanced the Blue Jays to the SLIAC Championship and a matchup with Greenville University.  The Blue Jays would prevail 3-2 in double overtime and punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history.

Sanchez most recently served as the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at State Fair Community College, where she was responsible for recruitment and retention of student-athletes. During her tenure, the team won a postseason game in the Region 16 tournament for the first time in school history, while increasing their number of wins from the season prior to her arrival.

Prior to her time at State Fair, Sanchez was an assistant coach for the varsity girls' soccer team at Canutillo High School in Canutillo, Texas. She was also a private trainer for the Chicago Edge Soccer Club in Oak Park, Illinois, from August 2015-October 2016, where she taught technical skills while analyzing players' strengths and weaknesses and tailored personalized training lessons for each athlete.

Along with coaching soccer, Sanchez plays competitively for the St. Louis Lions Women's Premiere Soccer League. She holds United States Soccer Federation E and F licenses.

Sanchez holds a bachelor's degree in natural science and nutrition from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois, where she was a member of the women's soccer team.
