Westminster Wrestling Opens at Kauffman-Brand-Bayley Open

ST. LOUIS - Westminster wrestling opened the season Saturday at the Kauffman-Brand-Bayley Open hosted by Maryville University, with four wrestling placing.

Sean Sax recorded the top finish for the Blue Jays with a first-place finish in the 149 weight class. He recorded two wins by fall and won by major decision in the championship match over Anthony Michaels of Lindenwood. 

Zach Hazen added a fifth-place finish for Westminster in the 197 bracket, winning once by major decision and winning by fall in the fith-place match of James Johnson of Cowley College. 

Both Hunter Tessman and Payton Price recorded sixth-place finishes. Tessman won twice by decision and twice by falls while Price earned a win by decision and a win by fall.
