Late Pin Sends Central Methodist Past Westminster Men's Wrestling

FULTON, Mo. – The Westminster wrestling team was defeated by Central Methodist on Thursday night in a dual meet that came down to the final match of night.

Brock Davis opened the match with a pin at 125 pinned his opponent to give the Blue Jays a 6-0 match lead. Dalton Landreth earned another six points for the Blue Jays win a pin at 133. At 141 Evan Winder went to distance to win an 11-7 decision in his collegiate debut.

After the Eagles got on the board with a win by forfeit at 149 Sean Sax picked up his 15th win of the season with a pin at 157 to give the Blue Jays a 21-6 lead.

The Eagles recorded pins in each of the next three bouts to take a 24-21 lead with two matches remaining. Daryl VanNostrand pinned his opponent at 197 to give Westminster a 27-24 lead heading to the final match.

In the final match of the night Brenden Shelton pinned Kobe Kaminski to give Central Methodist a 30-27 win over the Blue Jays.
