Westminster Women's Soccer Falls to Regionally-Ranked Webster

FULTON, Mo. - Westminster women's soccer was able to tally a goal, but eventually fell 3-1 to regionally ranked conference opponent Webster.

The Blue Jays fall to 5-3-1 on the year and 1-1 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The first three goals were all Webster, putting the Blue Jays in a deficit early in the game.

Westminster played a strong defensive first half, allowing just one goal from the Gorloks in the 11th minute of play.

The second Webster goal came just a few minutes into the second half, with the third coming in the 67th minute.

Kate Ponder was the lone Blue Jay to record a goal in the game, scoring in the 80th minute, but the freshman's effort wasn't enough to tie the game.

Along with Ponder, Natalie Schulte was the other Blue Jay to produce offense, recording three shots in the game.

Webster outshot Westminster 15-6. Sarah Cradick played all 90 minutes in goal, making five saves.

The Blue Jays remain home to face Eureka Saturday at 1 p.m. The game will be held on the new turf at Kent and Judy Mueller Stadium.
