Westminster Women’s Soccer Extends Shutout Streak With Win over Iowa Wesleyan

FULTON, Mo. – The Westminster women's soccer team did not allow a goal for the sixth consecutive game with a 4-0 win over Iowa Wesleyan on Tuesday night. The Blue Jays are now 5-8-3 overall and 5-1-2 in SLIAC matches.

Prior to the game the Blue Jays honored seniors Sarah Cradick, Madison Ekern and Sydney Pinkerton

Kate Ponder scored Westminster's first goal in the 7th minute and added a second goal in the 75th minute. Ponder's second goal was assisted by Kelsey Gordan.

Paige Price scored her first goal of the season when she headed in a cross from Liz Hammond to give Westminster a 2-0 lead in the 24th minute.

The Blue Jays added a fourth goal in the final minutes of the game when Emily Siegel booted the ball past the Iowa Wesleyan goalie. Ponder recorded the assist on Gordan's goal to finish the night with five points. She is now tied for the team lead in goals with eight and leads the Blue Jays with 19 points.

Westminster goalie Sarah Cradick earned the shutout after making a save on the only shot she faced in the game.

The Blue Jays will close out the regular season on Saturday at Principia.
