ST. LOUIS- The Westminster women's soccer team added seven players to St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams, including a trio of first team selections.
Natalie Schulte (Linn Creek, Mo./Camdenton), Madison Ekern (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) and Alaina Allsbury (Jefferson City, Mo./Jefferson City) earned first team honors.
Sarah Cradick (Maryland Heights, Mo./Pattonville) and Abbey Montana (Barnhart, Mo./Seckman) earned second team honors.
Kate Ponder (Ashland, Mo./Southern Boone) and Maddy Lawton (Wentzville, Mo./Timberland) were selected to the third team.
Schulte, who was named second team All-Conference last season, scored the second most goals for Westminster this season with eight. Three of her goals were game winners. Ekern, a senior midfielder, made her presence known on both offensive and defense, scoring three goals on the season. This is the third All-Conference nod for Ekern, who was named third team each of the past two seasons. Allsbury started all 17 games for the Blue Jays and helped lead a defense that held opponents to just 1.07 goals-per-game. Allsbury was a third team pick in 2017 as a freshman.
Cradick finished second in the conference in save percentage (.847), third in goals-against-average (1.06) and fourth in saves (111). She finished her career tied for the most wins in program history with 28. Sarah allowed just three goals in conference and was named the SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week three times this season. Montana made an immediate impact as a freshman and started in every game this season. She was a key contributor and helped the Blue Jays to seven shutouts on the season.
Ponder, who was the MVP of last year's SLIAC tournament, led Westminster with 10 goals on the season. Her 10 goals were tied for the sixth most in the conference. Lawton is another freshman who has made an impact for Westminster. Lawton started every game this season on defense and helped Westminster limit their opponents to just 20 goals.
Senior midfielder Sydney Pinkerton (Lee Summit, Mo. / Lee Summit West) was named to the All-Sportsmanship team for Westminster.
Cradick and Ekern also earned spots on the SLIAC All-Tournament team.
