9/17/24 Fulton, MO - The Westminster Women's Volleyball team dominated the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy at home, sweeping them in straight sets: 25-16, 25-16, 25-10. The Blue Jays controlled the match from start to finish, displaying superior offensive firepower and solid defense to improve their record to 3-11 on the season.
Westminster came out strong in the opening set, establishing an early lead and comfortably securing a 25-16 victory. The second set followed a similar pattern, with the Blue Jays maintaining their momentum and holding off any significant threats from the Eutectics. In the final set, Westminster's defense held back their opponents, allowing just 10 points as they cruised to another 25-10 win, completing the sweep.
Offensively, Kylie Hasselbacher delivered an impressive performance, leading the team with 15 kills and hitting .310. Meghan Nolte contributed 7 kills, hitting a remarkable .545, while Madisyn Ellis added 4 kills and 4 digs to the team's efforts. Setter Emma Behrmann orchestrated the offense with 15 assists, while the defense was anchored by Haylie Schnake's 15 digs.
A highlight of the match came from Kirsten Schrader, who reached a significant milestone with her 1,000th career dig, becoming only the sixth player in program history to accomplish this feat. Schrader's achievement was a proud moment for the team, further energizing their dominant performance.
