Coach Briggs joins Westminster College as the Head of Track and Field and Cross-Country programs after spending the last 4 seasons as the assistant cross-country/track coach at Rogers State University. At Rogers State Briggs helped rebuild the cross country and track programs. During the 2022 cross-country season, the Rogers State women achieved their first USTFCCCA National Ranking (#25). On the track 20 school records were broken including 1 NCAA D2 provisional qualifier. 

Prior to Rogers State University, Briggs spent two seasons at the University of Central Arkansas. At UCA, Briggs worked with the Cross-Country program and mid-distance/distance athletes for the Bears Track & Field teams. In his two seasons, Briggs helped coach 14 All-Southland Conference Athletes, including three in cross country, five during the indoor track seasons, and six during the outdoor track seasons. In 2019, Briggs oversaw the Southland Conference Women's Runner and Freshman of the Year. He also helped to develop the Southland Conference champions in the Women's 3,000-meter Steeplechase, Women's 5,000-meter run, and Men's 10,000-meter run. During the fall of 2018, Briggs was a member of the 2018 Southland Conference Coaching Staff of the Year after guiding the Men's Cross-Country team to the 2018 Southland Team Championship.

Briggs also as an experience at the Division 3 level as an athlete and coach at Hendrix College. As a coach at Hendrix Briggs helped develop eight Southern Athletic Association All-Conference athletes and relays. 

Briggs graduated with his Master's Degree in Exercise Science from Central Arkansas in May 2019. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from Hendrix in May 2016.
