Kent, from Montgomery City, Missouri, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Central Methodist University in 2018. After his time at CMU, he served as a Graduate Assistant at Avila University before landing a full-time position. Kent graduated with a master’s degree in Kinesiology from Avila University in 2021. After his time working at Avila, Kent landed a job with Northwest Iowa Bone, Joint, and Sport Surgeons. There, he was contracted to Buena Vista University as an assistant athletic trainer. Jake also helped the staff revise the mental health policies and procedures manual. His coverage included football, softball, men’s and women’s soccer, and men’s and women’s track and field.

In the fall of 2021, Jake oversaw the athletic training department: assistant athletic trainers and athletic training students, budget management, and operating purchases. His primary coverage included football and men’s and women’s basketball. Kent is a part of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

Jake resides in Fulton with his wife Rosie and three dogs.
