Westminster's Belman Named SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) announced the Players of the Week for October 12, and Westminster's Raul Belman was named the Men's Soccer Deffensive Player of the Week.

Belman, a junior from Celaya, Mexico, went 2-1 on the week with one shutout. He finished the week with nine saves in 225-minutes, recording a 0.40 goals-against average. He allowed just one goal on the week as they fell 1-0 to the nationally ranked Washington University. 

This is the second time this season Belman has picked up the weekly award.

The Blue Jays shutout MacMurray and Eureka, and their only loss came from the nationally ranked Washington University.

The team plays Webster University on Tuesday at 5:00 pm in Webster Groves, Mo.
