Fulton, MO, 9/25/21 – The Westminster College men's soccer team came into Saturday afternoons SLIAC clash with the Principia College Panthers riding a two-game winning streak and looking for more.  The Panthers defense was up for the challenge as they would bend but not break all night long keeping the Blue Jays out of the net.  The Blue Jay defense was even stingier only allowing a single shot on goal that sophomore goalkeeper Chris Lannom snagged to record a clean sheet for the Blue Jays.  With the
0-0 double overtime draw the Blue Jays record moves to 2-3-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the SLIAC.  The Panthers move to 1-3-1 and 1-2-1 in the SLIAC.

The Blue Jays outshot the Panthers 22-6 and 13-1 in shots on goal.  The Jays were awarded 12 corner kicks to Principia's four.  The Blue Jays were whistled for 14 fouls compared to Principia's nine.  The Blue Jay offense was led by senior forward Andrew Sprengel (Winfield, MO / Winfield) who got of five shots off including four of those being on target. Freshman forward Adam Luetkemeyer (Wentzville, MO / Timberland) also took five shots with two of those being on goal. Lannom, went the distance in goal earning his clean sheet.

The Blue Jays will be on the road on Monday September 27th when they travel to World Wide Technologies Soccer Park in St. Louis, MO to take on SLIAC rival the Webster University Gorloks.  The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. kick off.
