St. Louis, MO, 10/2/21 – The Westminster College volleyball team was playing their third game in three days.  Some might say they might be tired or run down.  Those people would be wrong as the Blue Jays played everyone on their roster and tore through the Principia College Panthers 3-0 (25-11,25-10, 25-15) Saturday afternoon in St. Louis at Fontbonne University.  The win was the Blue Jays fourth in a row and their record now sits at 6-9 and 1-1 in SLIAC play.  Principia drops to 0-7.

Eryka Wanyonyi (Columbia, MO / Hickman) led the Blue Jays offense with eleven kills followed closely by Haley Menke (O'Fallon, MO / Fort Zumwalt West) with ten kills without an attack error while she hit a sizzling team high .526.  Gretchen Durbala (Burlington, IA / Burlington) recorded a team high 17 assists including her 1,000th assist as a Blue Jay.  Erica Schrader (Imperial, MO / St. Pius X) led the defense with 14 digs. Celissa Kennedy led the Jays at the net with 5 total blocks.  A trio of Blue Jays, Kate Rable (Saint Peters, Mo. / Fort Zumwalt South), Durbala and Sophie Reimer (St. Charles, MIO / Lutheran) recorded three service aces each.

The Blue Jays are back in action today taking on the Fontbonne University Griffins.  The first serve is set for 3:00 p.m.
