Women's Cross Country Places 30th at Augustana Brissman/Lundeen Invitational

The Westminster women's cross country team placed 30th out of 50 Division I, Division II, Division III and NAIA schools at the 2015 Augustana Brissman/Lundeen Cross Country Invitational Friday evening. The team finished with 866 points in the 6K race, falling by just 20 points to conference foe Webster University.

Senior Brier Skogsberg finished first for the Westminster Blue Jays, placing 74th out of 602 runners with a time of 24:10.3. She averaged a 6:29 pace.

Sophomore Taylor Howard finished 127th with a time of 24:52.2, averaging a pace of 6:41. Freshman Jessie Kuykendall followed, placing 163rd with a 25:27.1 final time.

Junior Madison Zack and senior Claire Gibby earned the final points for the team as they placed 223rd (26:44.9) and 279th (28:48.7), respectively. 

Freshman Cora Panettiere closed out the race for the Blue Jays, placing 331st (33:32.6). 

The Blue Jays have another long roadtrip next Saturday, October 3, as they travel to Louisville, Kentucky, for the Louisville Cardinal Classic. The race begins at 9:30 a.m.
