Fulton, Mo 2/15/2024- The Westminster College Blue Jays hosted the Lyon College Scots in the second to last home game of the season. Lyon College would come out of the gates firing on all cylinders and jumping all over the Blue Jays to take a 54-26 lead at halftime and went on to win the game 94-67. The Scots improved to 15-8 on the season and 12-5 in the SLIAC. The Blue Jays fell to 5-19 overall and 5-12 in the SLIAC.
After being down 28 at halftime, the Blue Jays would continue to battle, outscoring the Scots 41-40 in the second half. Westminster would cut the lead to 13 points at 71-58 with 9:22 to go. However, the Blue Jays would run out of gas down the stretch and Lyon would win the game 94-67.
Senior guard Brennan Jeffries led the Blue Jays offense with 18 points. Freshman Jack Fessenden had 14 points and 5 rebounds. Ben Eberlin had 10 points after going 5-7 from the field.
The Blue Jays will be back in action on February 17th as they host the Mississippi University for Women on senior day. The game will start at 3:00 pm.
