One Women's Track & Field Record Broke, One Set At Jim Green Invitational

The Westminster women's track and field team had one record broken and one set at the Jim Green Invitational hosted by Illinois College on Saturday.

Senior Nyima Njie rebroke the 200-meter dash record with a time of 27.82. Senior Tanisha Terrell also ran the 200, placing 32nd with a final time of 28.40.

Junior Brier Skogsberg is the first Blue Jay in program history to compete in the 5000-meter run. She placed 11th with a 19:49.89 time. 

Terrell and Njie also ran the 60-meter dash. Terrell placed 17th in the preliminaries with a time of 8.37, and Njie finished with a time of 8.43.

Freshman Maria Rains competed in the 400-meter dash. She placed 20th, crossing the finish line in 1:04.36.

The track & field teams close out the indoor season on Friday, February 20, at the Missouri Collegiate Challenge.
