KANSAS CITY - Westminster women's track and field finished the Darrel Gourley Open in 11th place, led by Jessie Kuykendall and Shannon McCaul.
Kuykendall recorded the sole first-place finish for the Blue Jays at the meet, finishing first in the 10,000 meters. She completed the 10K a full two-minutes faster than her closest competitior, finishing in 39 minutes, 26.78 seconds.
McCaul earned a second-place finish in the 1500 meters, finishing with a sub-five minute time of 4:50.09, just four seconds off the first place time.
She also finished in fifth place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:24.04.
Other top finishes for the women's team included a third-place finish in the steeplechase by Sydney Pinkerton, who completed the race in 13:56 to earn eight points for the team.
Madison Zack earned points in the 5000 meters, taking eighth place and finishing the race in 21:57.84.
Westminster competes in its last regular-season meet of the year at Missouri S&T in Rolla, Missouri, next Saturday, April 22.
