JOPLIN, Mo. - Jessie Kuykendall broke the Westminster women's 5K record and finished third out of 148 runners in the Southern Stampede hosted by Missouri Southern State.
Kuyeddall finished in 18 minutes, 45.48 seconds. The first and second place finishers ran the race in 18:08.32 and 18:19.91, respectively.
The Blue Jays finished 13th of 17 teams in the race.
Finishing in second for Westminster was Alex Rauscher who came in 80th with a time of 21:35.38.
Next was Madison Zack in 96th (22:04.42), Charlotte Blair in 98th (22:04.58), Sydney Pinkerton in 112th (22:55.08) and Kelsey Newland in 127th (24:12.24).
Westminster women's cross country competes Friday, Sept. 23 at the Brissman-Lundeen Invitational hosted by Augustana.
