Kuykendall Wins SLIAC Individual Title

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Jessie Kuykendall won the SLIAC championship and claimed the Player of the Year Prize for women's cross country, the program's first-ever individual title.

Kuykendall was not threatened in her championship run, with the second-place finisher crossing nearly 50 seconds after her 22 minute, 30.72 second mark. The margin of victory was the largest since 2008 and the fastest time by a first-place finisher since 2013.

As a team, Westminster finished in third place. 

Alex Rauscher added a top-ten finish for the Blue Jays in ninth place with a time of 25:02.85. She was a second team All-Conference honoree as well as winning the All-Sportsmanship award.

Madison Zack finished in 16th for Westminster, crossing the line in 26:04.23. Taylor Howard 26:27.32), Charlotte Blair (26:32.73), and Abby Beach (26:42.54) rounded out the top five finished for Westminster finishing in 18th, 19th, and 20th repspectively. 

Sydney Pinkerton and Kelsey Newland finished in 27th and 35th for the Blue Jays. 

The team now travels to the NCAA Midwest Regional Saturday, Nov. 12.
