Talisha Washington begins her fifth season as head coach of the Blue Jays. Washington joined the women's basketball staff as an assistant in June 2017 and was promoted to Head Coach in May 2019.

The Fulton, MO native, owns a 60-36 record after her four seasons with the Blue Jays. The Blue Jays finished 12-13 and 11-7 in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in Washington's first season in 2019-20. Washington coached two All-Conference players in Kallee Dowler (Second Team) and Reese Arnold (Third Team) in the 19-20 season.

During her second season at the helm, Washington brought in the 2020 recruiting class of thirteen ( known to be the biggest recruiting class for the program). This ultimately led to a very successful 20-21 season, with an impressive 12-3 overall record and a 7-2 conference record. The Blue Jays ended the 20-21 season by capturing the 2021 SLIAC Conference Tournament Title. Washington also earned honors as she received the SLIAC Coach of the Year Award. The Blue Jays finished top in the conference for rebounds and three-point shooting percentage shooting 37%. Junior Reese Arnold received SLIAC first-team all-conference and SLIAC Tournament MVP honors. Sophomore Avylina Powel-Qualo received second-team all-conference and was also an all-defensive team selection.

In her tenure with the program, the Blue Jays recorded the top three records for points in a game in school history while improving the win total from the 2016-17 season. The squad reached the SLIAC Tournament title game for the fourth time in school history, becoming the first-ever No. 4 seed in the tournament to upset the top seed and advance to the championship. The team was ranked No. 2 nationally in offensive rebounding. The Blue Jays also ranked No. 17 in the nation on the WBCA Academic Honor Roll.

Prior to joining the staff at Westminster, Washington worked on the administrative side of sports with the Missouri State High School Activities Association and the Callaway County YMCA. Washington currently holds the title of Senior Women's Administrator for Westminster College. She also leads the SLIAC Diversity and Inclusion Committee.

A former member of the Blue Jay women's basketball team, Washington was a three-year letter-winner for Westminster from 2010-13 after transferring from Missouri Southern. She was a member of the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship team in 2012 and was part of the program's first-ever SLIAC regular season and tournament title. Washington's teams earned trips to the NCAA Tournament in 2012 and 2013.

Washington also played softball at Westminster for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

A Fulton native, Washington is a Fulton High School graduate. She received her bachelor's in Business and Sports Management from Westminster in 2013, and a master's in Athletic/Activities Administration from William Woods in 2016.

Washington resides in Fulton with her daughter, Kenzi.
